DAY 1 yoga | in alignment with the DAY 1 Project

with Micah Blumenthal
Sat June 2  2-3:30pm

The Day 1 Project provides an alternative to the Us vs. Them paradigm. Day 1 Yoga uses movement and breath, self-inquiry in the form of discussion, and mindfulness practice as a means to explore alternative paradigms and open up to new ways of being in the world. This one and half hour class is divided into 3 equal parts.

  • Part 1 - Movement: through yoga postures and breath we prepare ourselves by opening up

  • Part 2 - Discussion: through the lens of self-inquiry (looking at our mental habits and patterns) we mindfully discuss a particular topic

  • Part 3 - Restorative Yoga: resting in supported yoga postures to further absorb and integrate what we have shared

Single Class | $20

book club

with Charlotte Adamis
Sun Jun 3 . 12:30-2pm

Why Meditate?

During our next book club we explore the potential of healing and happiness through the practice of meditation.  There are two book options — read one or both...

Dr. Mark Epstein, a psychiatrist and Buddhist teacher, elegantly travels the roads that intersect between Buddhism (including meditation) and psychotherapy in his most recent book, Advice Not Given: A Guide to Getting Over Yourself.  Our second book is by Dan Harris, the ABC news anchor, who began his meditation practice after having a panic attack on national television.  Dan’s book, Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics, offers a no-nonsense (and often humorous) guide to how to start your own practice—even if it’s one minute a day!

Join us for a lively discussion, a short meditation, and a potluck vegetarian brunch!

This is a free event. Sharing a potluck brunch is part of the event. Please bring something vegan or vegetarian for everyone to enjoy.
Feel free to call 845.481.3108 with any questions. Or email shawn@muditayogalab.com.
